Report a Crime
When should I call 9-1-1?	If you observe suspicious activity, see a crime occurring, or are a victim of a crime in progress* CALL 9-1-1. Provide the 9-1-1 dispatcher with as much information as you can collect: physical location, suspect description, activity, vehicle type, etc. * Suspicious activity is any event that seems “out of the ordinary.” Examples include persons peering into parked vehicles on the street, persons walking through your neighborhood peering into windows or garages, occupied vehicles on the street at unusual hours, sound of breaking glass, strange persons loitering, etc.

Definition of a Nuisance	A public nuisance consists of doing an unlawful act, or omitting to perform a duty, or permitting an action or condition to occur that intrudes on the ability of neighbors or citizens to use or enjoy their properties or public property adjacent to where the nuisance occurs.
Reporting a Nuisance: Examples include private property with: - dilapidated structures - overgrown vegetation - abandoned autos	Tacoma CARES: 253-591-5001 Be prepared to provide a physical address of the property and a description of the nuisance. You will receive a case number upon filing. Code Enforcement inspectors will then be dispatched to investigate the concern and take necessary action.
