Graffiti/Vandalism


Graffiti Vandalism is a crime. It is defined by the Tacoma Municipal Code (8.120.010), as "the act of intentionally altering, marking, or defacing property."

City of Tacoma Anti-Graffiti Ordinance


To combat the presence of graffiti in Tacoma, the City Council passed Ordinance 26395 (effective December 20, 1999) making graffiti illegal in Tacoma. The ordinance calls out specific enforcement actions for compliance by the property owner or responsible party. No provision is made for graffiti removal assistance.
